South Ipswich is an area of the larger town of Ipswich in Suffolk, the oldest town in England, dating back to early Anglo-Saxon times. Set on the river Orwell, not far from the East Coast and Felixstowe, if you are renting a car from the local Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch, there is lots to see in the area.

Holywells Park in South Ipswich is a great place for families, there's a children's playground, a maze, an orangerie and a tea room for refreshments.  For indoor fun and education head to Ipswich Transport Museum, where vintage vehicles and interactive exhibits offer a glimpse into transportation history.

Parking and Road Access

There are several car parks in the centre of Ipswich as well as a large free car park behind the post office. South Ipswich has plenty of street parking, but around the railway station it may be a little harder to find a space. Getting into and out of South Ipswich is pretty convenient via the A14 which crosses the river and connects with the A12 towards London and the A140 to Norwich.
